About me
Responsible storytelling with data
I'm Dr Ana Todorović, founder of Stimulus Analytics. I hold a PhD in cognitive neuroscience, held research posts at the University of Oxford, and spent three years as a Senior Research Scientist at Akrivia Health analysing NHS mental health records. I come with domain knowledge about how humans work: their bodies, their minds, their emotions, and their complex interaction with their surroundings.
I also write about medical communication; one of my essays was selected by The Atlantic among the best non-fiction articles published worldwide in 2016. Before science, I led a youth human rights organisation in the former Yugoslavia, which taught me to listen carefully and build trust across divides.
I am an experienced researcher with an eye for detail, and I care.

My approach
Applying the right statistical test is only the beginning.
Meaningful conclusions need domain knowledge and a sceptical eye: a data analyst who understands what a robust finding looks like.
I report results in the form you need, whether that's a client report, a peer-reviewed paper or a presentation. I also take on scientific writing, data visualisation and publication support.
Thoughtful data analysis
Across 15+ years of research, I have worked with different kinds of human data: from the brain and body, from behavioural experiments, questionnaires, electronic health records, and public sources. It's tempting to think that once something is measured, it gives us a straightforward answer, but often the most involved bit of analysis is faithfully interpreting the results in a way that speaks to the end user.
Careful visualisation
Results can be fully appreciated only when clearly displayed, which is why I will work with you to showcase your findings in the most meaningful way.
Inquisitive Approach
I will always want to get to know your data as well as possible. I approach every research question as an opportunity to broaden my horizons and to learn something new.
